The Autech plant after the 2003 expansion

Location

Autech Plastics is located in the Auburn Technology Park.  The location is convenient to the NY State Thruway at Exit 40.  This is between Syracuse and Rochester, closer to Syracuse.

The lovely Finger Lakes region of NY gives us a pleasant place to work with good transportation and low costs.

It is easy to get to Autech from major East-West (I-90) and North-South (I-81) routes. Flights to Syracuse or Rochester Airports leave an easy drive to the plant

Low Costs

Autech Plastics has the objective to be the low cost provider of high quality injection molding.   Being the low cost provider allows us to compete with price and still be stable and profitable.

Here is some insight on how we accomplish that objective.

Our location gives us access to low priced real estate and labor costs which are among the lowest in the United States.

Our plant is functional and efficient.  Investments are made in efficiency.  Money is not spent on items which will improve appearance but not efficiency.  Building plant and equipment are well maintained, but simple.

The company is small and lean.  Many key people wear multiple hats.  This allows us to remove an entire organizational level which exists in almost all of our competitors.  A key component of this management approach is the President, Charles Beck.

Mr. Beck has a BA in Math and an MBA.  He has long experience in manufacturing and plastic molding.  Past positions in other firms include manufacturing engineer, quality engineer, quality manager, manufacturing engineering manager, engineering services manager, production manager, general manager, and president.  This allows Autech Plastics to do very high quality work in these areas, without employing separate professionals.  Mr. Beck also functions as the entire sales and estimating staff.

Autech Plastic works hard to buy the equipment that will lead to the lowest costs.  We are careful not to buy technology that is so new that we are testing and developing new ideas.  Still we employ all the proven and effective technology to give repeatability, quality and efficiency.  Great care is given to shopping for equipment so as not to overpay and increase depreciation costs.
